Make an Insect Mask!

Here's how to make two paper insect masks you can wear. First, print out our cricket and butterfly mask patterns, then follow the directions to put them together. To view and print out the mask patterns, click on the images at right. The patterns are Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) files; to view them, you must have the free Acrobat Reader. Print out the patterns in black and white and color them in, or, if you have a color printer, print them out in color.

While the files are loading, gather your construction materials: scissors, crayons or markers, glue or paste, pen or pencil, hole punch, and string.

You can view the mask directions in one of two ways: as an interactive animation, or as a series of images you can print out.

To view the animation, you must have the free Shockwave Flash plug-in.
