Mammals: Llama

Llamas are members of the camel family and are technically referred to as camelids. Llamas have long, dense wool covering their bodies, which ranges in color from white to brown, yellow, blue, and black. Llamas roll on the ground to maintain their wool's insulating properties.

Llamas live in Southern Peru, Bolivia, and Northern Argentina.

They munch on grass and other vegetation.

Llamas usually spit to settle an argument about food or pecking order within a group.

Llamas are used to protect cattle and sheep herds from wolves. Among the oldest domestic animals in the world, they are hardy, intelligent, and easy to train.
