I am monitoring a bald eagles nest for the Audubon in Palm Coast, FL. I have seen the adult pair mate and anxiously waiting for incubation and their hatchlings.

This sighting goes back to about 2003, either July or August, when I was visiting my hometown of Port Huron, MI. I was driving west on North River Road, towards Beards Hills, when I spied the silhouette I immediately recognized as “bald eagle.” I grew up there in the 60s & 70s, again from the mid-80s to 1998, returning to visit summer and winter every year. NEVER saw a bald eagle in my life, except on tv. I told my mom about the sighting, she didn’t believe it. She’d lived there all her 61yrs, grew up on a farm, had never seen a bald eagle among the wild creatures. She happened to have the local newspaper in her hand, folded as it came from the delivery boy, opened it up, and right on the front page was an article and gorgeous pix of a newly released pair of eagles that had established a mating relationship as hoped. Sadly, I haven’t been able to find any news since that sighting — not even at the local Audubon Society website. I wish I knew their fate.

On Monday, Nov. 10th, I was driving on Hwy. 122 between Clear Lake and Mason City, IA and I noticed a bald eagle circling above a corn field. My thought was that there was probably carrion in the field.

I live in a gated community named Bellalago located in Kissimmee, FL (just a few minutes south of Orlando). We have a bald eagle reserve inside the community and we see them flying around once in a while. One particular day, as I was passing the gate to return home, one was on the sidewalk with a rodent under its talons and a vulture next to it and they were staring each other down. Of course I fumble through my things, rolled the window down as fast as I could and took a couple shots. My heart was racing as I had never been this close to an eagle before, literally 6-8 feet in front of me! Another time, as I was headed out to work, I had just crossed the gate and an eagle came from the trees just ahead and swooped over my car on his way inside the community. That was a lovely experience!

A Bald Eagle was spotted by a friend and I while eating lunch on a stonewall in October. This majestic bird was seen in Caterbury, NH at the Shaker Village there where we work. It was a beautiful Fall day. There was no mistaking that white head and broad wing span. Absolutely beautiful!

Tom Morehouse -- November 16th, 2008 at 12:47 pm

Our Bald Eagle photo was taken Sunday Morning, 11/16/2008 (look for Hampton, Va) An eagle has visited us with some regularity over the past 3 years, sitting majestically on the piling. Mornings, unfortunately, do not provide the best lighting.

D Smith -- November 16th, 2008 at 9:32 pm

I had the honor of spotting an eagle up close near my home in Peru, Indiana. I was returning from my home back into to town a few weeks ago and my peripheral vision caught a glimpse of something bright white moving a stone’s throw away on the railroad track parallel to the highway. I looked over and the eagle was sitting (and eating) in between the railroad tracks. I made a u-turn at the next intersection and returned with all hopes nothing had scared it off. There it still sat, in all its glory. I was able to momentarily stop my car to view it before it flew off. A wonderful experience to dissolve away the stresses of the day!

We see eagles frequently here in Tigerton, WI. My latest sighting was about 1 mi. east of Tigerton where one was perched in a tree near Co. Hwy M. They are awesome birds and so was this show.

This summer I was Kayaking on Sturgeon Lake, on Sauvie Island about 10 miles N.W. of Portland Oregon. The lake is part of a wildlife refuge for migratory birds. On this particular day, I was following a little channel into a thick of trees when an Eagle flew over my head, perched, and started preening. When I got my camera out he started posing for me. I could not believe it, it was just too cool.

Meryl -- November 17th, 2008 at 3:17 am

I was winterizing my garden in Levittown, PA, around mid October (this year) when my neighbor excitedly pointed out a VERY large bird sitting on the chimney of my house.

I could scarcely believe my eyes as this was undoubtedly the largest bird I have ever seen… outside of a safari park, anyway.

She thought it was “some sort of hawk”, but the bird stood about two thirds the height of the four-foot chimney, and I have never seen (or heard of) a hawk that large!

The bird had flown over her head and actually brushed against her. What threw me off was the plumage. All of the feathers AND the beak were a dusky brown color. I was not aware that the characteristic white head does not devolop until the eagle is about four years old.

The other thing that made this sighting so unusual is the fact that we live in a fairly highly-populated residential area about 5 miles west of the Delaware River.

After some research and inquiries to local wildlife groups, I am quite certain that what we saw, was in fact, an immature Bald Eagle. This is the ONLY time I have ever seen one in my 56 years!

I wish I’d had a camera… I still don’t think her hubby believes us!

Darlene -- November 17th, 2008 at 3:43 am

I spotted three bald eagles flying over my home area today (Bourg, Louisiana – extreme south Louisiana)… What a beautiful sight. Yesterday, I spotted five eagles searching for food early in the morning near Amelia, Louisiana. Terrebonne Parish has one of the highest nesting areas in the south with over 100 nests counted as of last year.

I went on a photo expedition with C.C. Lockwood (a famous wildlife photographer) last February at the Eagle Expo in Morgan City, Louisiana. I was able to capture some great shots. See them at http://www.bayoubellephotography.com Can’t wait to attend the next Expo in 2009!

Steve -- November 17th, 2008 at 1:14 pm

Anchorage, Alaska
We, in Alaska, are privileged to have almost daily sightings of many bald eagles. Sometimes the enormous numbers force the eagles into extraordinary situations. Case in point, Kodiak, January 2008…approx 50 eagles swamped by fish guts at a local processing plant…many were killed, but 30 were taken by plane to Anchorage and The Bird Treatment and Learning Center (BirdTLC) for treatment…29 survived and were returned back to the wild! http://www.birdtlc.net/

For those of you that are now seeing more of these majestic birds in the lower forty eight…enjoy them and protect them!

My wife and I were out for a ride in the woods on the Menominee Reservation in Wisconsin (You can see the reservation outline from space, see above map #54135)when we stopped to take a walk. She spotted something off the road and when we investigated we found and eagle carcass. The body was pretty much decayed. Suddenly we heard a yelp over us up in the trees. Amazingly the dead eagle’s mate was still holding vigil over its body. It was sad sight to see. It was a cry that I can’t forget. It seemed to let us know it was there then flew off. We contacted the local warden who came and took it away. They said it was too decayed to determine its death. Because its white tail feathers were gone I am quite sure someone shot it. I am quite angry about that. When I think of the death of the one eyed female I know a family was destroyed. Eagles are sacred being in the traditions of my people. When we receive eagle feathers we are given a huge responsibility to take care of and respect them.

Lori -- November 20th, 2008 at 1:21 pm

I recently saw one bald eagle on the Chagrin River (Kirtland, OH) on October 25th, 2008. Then, 2 more (within several miles of same location) soaring through the skies over Mentor, OH on Nov 18th, 2008. Awesome!!!

We saw our first adult eagle of the season today perched high in a tree along the Iowa River branch near Goodell, Iowa on our property. (November 22, 2008)

Nov 27 2008 (Thanksgiving) near noon an adult bald eagle perched in my side yard then flew down and grabbed an eastern mole from its active burrow. Strangest thing I’ve ever seen. La Plata, MD

December 10, 2008 — 12:30 PM

My daughter notified me that there was a bald eagle perched high in a tree in the Rice Creek Wildlife Sanctuary behind our home in Fridley, MN. It appeared to be “having lunch”.

I have not noticed any bald eagles in our immediate area for several years (not that I actively pursue looking), but we do see Goldens once or twice a year.

I also spotted a herd of 13 deer in the same area early in 2008. My earliest “record” had been 11. It is truly great to live in suburban Minneapolis and to have such an abundance of wildlife at our doorstep.

I have seen Bald Eagle all over the region of Maryland,D.C., and Virginia for the past thirty years.

Eric J Woody -- December 28th, 2008 at 6:53 pm

Another thing most people don’t know about this region of the eastcoast. It has the second largest Bald Eagle populations on the Eastcoast second only to Florida. The last count I saw was in 2007 900 to a 1000 nesting pairs or more within this region.

On Saturday, Jan 10, 2009 my son and I spotted a large bird on the pillar of the dam. I tried to take a pic with my cell phone, but it couldn’t zoom good enough. We drove to the other side of the lake and sure enough, it was a Bald Eagle!
Went home and got the camera and my friend Mike and went back. About and hour and a half had passed, but it was still there, in a tree about 50 yards from the pillar.
It flew out over the lake, dipping in and out of the coves and settled in the trees behind the new dam. It was beautiful.
None of us had ever seen one outside of captivity, and I don’t recall anyone seeing one in our area before.
Amazing!

I moved to the Twin Cities from RI just as the economy began crashing down. I was fortunate to get a nursing job in my area of specialty, but last night, I received official notice that I, along with dozens of other nurses, will be laid off in 2 weeks. When I got to work at 7am this morning, I burst out crying, from the stress of my impending lay off coupled with built-up anxiety from my morning commute over black ice covered roads in -21 F weather. My very kind manager (who had nothing to do with the lay offs) let me go home on a personal day. On my drive back from St. Paul to Minneapolis, after marvelling at a beautiful pink sunrise over the snow-white Mississippi River, I witnessed an adult bald eagle flying straight across my path, 3 blocks from my home. I have never been lucky enough to see a wild bald eagle before, so I am taking this as a good sign. Wish me and our growing MN bald eagle population good luck!

Jan. 16, 2009
I was walking on Conger {Lighthouse} Beach here in Port Huron, MI looking at the frozen ice flows, thinking about hopes for change in America–end to violence in Iraq,Gaza,Darfur,Afghanistan–with a new President in four days, calling to mind peacemaker friends who’ve died, in particular one of strong American Indian blood who’d lived a difficult life. Glancing up I saw coming across from Canada a large bird, whose profile and white markings head and tail as it came to fly directly 100 feet above, were of an unmistakable American bald eagle. This was my local beach I’ve walked thousands of times, [I've only seen a bald eagle once before in the wild on Isle Royale last July] these were and are my friends, this is my country. I feel very blessed. Yes, we can.
And, Kim, it was flying in the direction of Beard’s Hills, appeared to be hunting. I’d say the pair you mentioned is likely thriving, perhaps propagating.

Some friends from college and I went on a weekend camping trip to the Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania, and we saw a Bald Eagle along the road near the lake. It was the first time any of us had ever seen a Bald Eagle in the wild. That alone made the trip worth it for us!

Today while driving on 275 S and connecting on I75 in Monroe, MI I looked up and saw a sight I have never seen! A bald Eagle was soaring about 75 / 100 ft above the freeway. What a site. That is one bog beautiful bird, I called my wife and Son to let them know what I was looing at. Never thought I would see an American Bald Eagle living in the wild. Thank oyu God. Thank you. I also have notice a very large number of Hawks everywhere I go. Seems they are just about everywhere these days. Soo there will be no squirrle, pigons, or small cats and dogs if the populations keep growing!

I was at work in North Lake Tahoe, Nevada 2-13-09. Out of the corner of my eye I saw 2 extremely large birds gliding through the crisp morning air. The weather was slightly snowy and very chilly. My coworker noticed what I was looking at and said “oh, two American Bald Eagles, that’s something I’ve never seen before”. That’s when I knew I was not dreaming.
These two beautiful birds were just gliding through the air one following the other like they were in love. What a sight and I will neer forget it.

I was leaving a friends house in Darby, PA Sunday afternoon about 1:00pm on 2/15/09. I couldn’t believe my eyes! A Bald Eagle flying directly above me. I have been a die-hard bird whatcher for years and as often as I have attempted to find these magnificent birds, I have never seen one up close outside of captivity! I was on Maine Street in Delaware COunty. PA when I saw the large female! I am still in AWE

I have observed a pair of bald eagles build a nest and raise 2 young over 2 years, and 2 very large adults build a nest and raise a young one last year, 2008. These eagles live on Lake Guntersville in N. E. Alabama. I have been observing 2 pair of golden eagles but can not locate their nesting areas. If any one would like pics. E me.

Rich Moberly -- February 20th, 2009 at 5:13 pm

I have spotted eagles several times in our local area over the past 5 years or so. 2 weeks ago I spotted 2 resting in a tree just south of town and that same week my wife spotted on resting in a tree above the river in the middle of town. Nice to see such a majestic bird coming back into this area.

John Rich -- February 24th, 2009 at 3:41 pm

I saw 2 eagles this morning feeding on a racoon carcass. One immature and one adult. We live along the Wapsipinicon River and see them fairly regularly.

Wendy Adams -- February 26th, 2009 at 11:36 am

What a treat! While I have seen bald eagles in Florida, this was a first to see one flying around our property. We have a home and guesthouse in the Avalon area of Baltimore, Maryland overlooking 15,000 acres of parkland. My husband suggests this guy maybe was following the causeway (the Patapsco Valley River) from Western Maryland.

Keith Tetstone -- February 28th, 2009 at 4:08 pm

Today I saw three bald eagles fly over my property between Starke and Raiford, Florida. Two were flying very low and were eaglets. They were very large but yet to get the white head and tail feathers. The apparent mother was flying a bit higher in a circular soaring fashion. The eaglets appeared to be playing as they “played tag” with one another and followed thir mother.

I would like to know how to contact the person #35 and others about their sightings of bald eagles. I didn’t not see a email link to click. I travel and love to see bald eagles and golden eagles. I have seen plenty of Hawks. Let me know thank you.

I saw an Eagle sitting on the side of the road on top of a dead dear on Lake Pickett Road on 2/23/09 then saw one with a fresh kill on Curryville Road 3/1/09. Don’t know if it is the same eagle it is about 7 miles appart. Chuluota, FL

I have been watching an Eagle in State College PA. for 2 months now on Shiloh Road by the Fish Hatchery. By the coloration this eagle is at least 4 years old and has a wing span of about 6 or 7 feet.He/she comes in to get a better look at me everytime and then casually glides away out of sight in the same direction.Ive been trying to locate this Eagles nest to protect he/she.Could possibly be nesting in the area of forest between the main highways that is being fueded over for commercial purposes.He/she has been spotted many times, but no one seems to be able to locate he/shes home.Ive been to this spot everyday for 2 months now, i plan to keep looking! Its beginning to look like the Eagle is accepting my presence and is comfortable with me being around him.

Jeff Brant -- March 4th, 2009 at 1:11 pm

I spotted a bald eagle this morning landing in a farm field between Lake Gordon and Koon Dam, which is north of Cumberland, MD about 8 miles. I slowed down to watch, but I guess I spooked him. I was maybe only 30-40 yards from him. He took off again and circled around and came back, but didn’t land, and he decided to wait me out in a big oak tree a hundred yards or so from my position along the road. I had another sighting last fall just up the road about a mile at Koon Dam. Perhaps the same bird. I was very excited to see an eagle in this area, so my second sighting tells me this might not be a migrating eagle, that it could be a permanent resident.

Last month I was walking my dog on a path along the Mississippi in South St. Paul, MN. I counted about 20 eagles perched in trees by open water along the river. Also up at the cabin in Danbury, WI there has been an eagles nest for the past 10 years by the lake. It is fun to drive the pontoon towards the nest to see any babies. Over the years we have seen many babies in and around the nest. Often when I am laying out on the river I see the eagle flighing high searching for food and then of course the impresive glide down to the water. Once while floating on the pontoon I saw a momma and papa loon taking their little ones out in the open water. There was an eagle flying close by and the mom and dad loon were doing a lot of squaking and guarding of their little one. I was very upset with the eagle that day.

PORT ALLEN, LOUISIANA
On March 20, 2009 at 5:15 P.M., a Bald Eagle was about 100 feet from my house near water that was left in a low spot after a rain in a large open field. I sat in my car for about five minutes and watched it. I tried to take a picture but my camera does not have a zoom. It looked like a 20 pound turkey. When it flew away, it seemed to have a wing span of four feet. It nested in a tree two blocks away. I first thought it may have escaped from the zoo. It was an awesome site.

The Woodlands, Texas

There is a junior bald eagle that lands on our fence in our yard occasionally. The most recent occurence happened on March 27, 2009 while it was raining. I was amazed to sit it gracefully sitting on the fence in the rain. It remained for approximately 30 minutes until my daughter scared it away.

Saw a bald eagle Sat (4/11/09) morning during breakfast. It was just sitting atop a bare tree in the neighbors yard. I’ve never seen one in a residential area before and was skeptical that I was actually seeing a bald eagle. But just as soon as he took off, I was positive. All white head with golden beak and white tail feather and slow powerful movement. Beautiful. I wish he’d come back!

Bob Baker -- April 13th, 2009 at 10:59 pm

My Grandson Parker and I were walking through the woods along the upper feed for Lake Kristi. We came upon a Juvenile Bald Eagle in the woods under heavy Canopy, and after watching him make several unsuccessful attempts to get airborne, we decided he was wounded and needed medical attention. We were successful in capturing him using a hunting shirt to cover him and picking him up and folding his wings against his body, we took him to my back yard where there were no obstacles for him to overcome to get airborne. I had intended to take him for medical attention, but after talking with the local expert on Bald Eagles, ( I think he said his name was Paul) I was told that he was probably trapped by the heavy canopy where we discovered him, so I released him in my back yard. Hurrah! He got airborne on the first try, and shortly thereafter, he Flew by overhead twice as if to say “Thank You for the Rescue”. It was a great experience for Parker, and for myself too, as a matter of fact.

At 11:26am I’m driving down Northside Drive towards Countryside Golf Course and a bald eagle holding a squirrel in his talons with 2 black birds following flew over my truck, the hood of my truck right in front of my winshield that it scared the heck out of me and it was so totally awesome and SO CLOSE and then it flew low over the lake on the right of me. The guy in the car following me pulled up along side of me and confirmed we both saw the same Awesome sight. What are the chances? I heard that it is Good Luck to see a bald eagle and I wish for more sightings like this and I thanked God for the experiece. AWESOME! I’m still shaking and excited to have witnessed such a sight. Poor little squirrel, he was in the wrong place at the right time. The picture will flash in my mind over and over. So cool!

I was driving across the Nickle Bridge in Richmond VA on Sunday, May 4 2009 when a mature bald eagle flew directly over my car, and turned his head in my direction. I saw the bird from off in the distance when I first crossed the bridge, and I was amazed at how quickly the bird flew. The eagle was over my car by the time I was in the middle of the bridge. A Beautiful Blessing!

We were driving along the north shore of Lake Ontario west of Port Stanley when we were so fortunate to see an American Bald Eagle about 50ft from the road feeding off a dead groundhog. We stopped to watch but it few to a large tree where there was another one perched. We also could see which would likely be the nest in another tree. We waited about 20min. but it didn’t return to feed. what a neat feeling!

Patty -- June 6th, 2009 at 9:51 pm

This huge, bird landed on my neighbor across the streets roof; and my son was like,”Is that a Hawk?”, but then, I, being an avid bird watcher said that its too big to be a Hawk; and I got my Binoculars and checked it out; it was dark colored like a Hawk; but its legs were white fluffy feathers! Then my son said,”I think its an Eagle!” becuz he had recently seen one at a Park that takes care of Wild animals who can’t survive in the wild anymore. So, I looked it up on the Computer; and researched it for a few hours and it was, or IS a Juvenile Bald Eagle. The wierd thing about this is; it was almost a week ago, and its STILL hanging around in my neighborhood; which is a residential neighborhood, but there is fields all around here; and a few small fishing lakes. (THis is Aurora, IL)Suburb of Chicago, IL. I even looked up the calls its making; and it is the calls of an Eagle. I can’t figure out why its still here. It likes the huge tree across the street the most; but all day long you can hear its lonely calls; like right out of a Wilderness Park or something.

We spotted a bald eagle fishing on Brickyard Pond in Barrington, Rhode Island. We were riding on the East Bay Bikepath and had stopped for a drink and to look at an osprey nest. But then we saw another bird fishing but much larger than the osprey nearby. I am pretty sure it was a bald eagle because of its white head, its size, and its distinct flight pattern from the ospreys.

My friend and I were playing golf at dusk on the spring equinox, the course is called Battle Creek on the Tulalip Indian Reservation, we were at the highest point on the clourse with majestic views of the Puget Sound close by, I suddenly felt a strong whooooosh of air just above my head as a huge bald eagle was landing on a tree limb not 20ft above, we stayed motionless, he looked right at us, unfazed, we both felt a very strong presence, after a couple minutes he left, his wing span was at least 6 to 7ft. He has come to me in my dreams every night since. A totem?

Joan Santomenna -- June 29th, 2009 at 9:10 am

We live on the Toms River in New Jersey. In October 1908 a fledgling bald eagle landed on top of our birch tree about 25 ft from where we were sitting and stayed for several minutes watching us while we admired him. His wingspan was about 3-4 ft. His head was not yet totally white…His presence was a wonderful gift form God.

Two weeks I saw an immature eagle picking up road kill near my house. This morning my grandson and I noticed two bald eagles, one mature and one immature, circling over my husband as he mowed our pasture. I motioned for him to pull over, and as we all sat on the tractor watching the, immature bird came to the ground in front of us in an attempt to catch prey. The two birds met briefly in the top of a pine tree, then separated but continued to steadily call to each other in a shrill whistle. It was a thrill to see these huge birds up close.

I was in the pool at my mom and dad’s house in Harrison Township, near Mt. Clemens MI, when I saw a
beautiful bald eagle gliding overhead. I’ve lived here all my life and never saw one. We go up to the
Tippy Dam Pond near Cadillac MI, and see three or four nests every summer. Never close to home though.
It made my day!

Jan Figueira -- August 26th, 2009 at 1:45 pm

07:20 this morning as I approached my van (at work as usual on Sunday mornings) I saw a 40″ span Bald Eagle. Very Stirring! I make it a habit of parking near the duck pond so I can view wildlife on break and it has paid off this morning. I have been seeing Herons, gray and green in variety and deer and fox… Today my heart soared w/ this Eagle and my spirit swooned.

patricia -- August 31st, 2009 at 3:12 am

There are American eagles that soar in groups of 4
over my home in Belleville, Michigan. Also they put on quite a show over Belleville Lake as well as Lower Huron Metro Park, also located in Van Buren Townships. Such an incredible honor to see. We all stop and watch- beautiful….

We saw a bald eagle at Grand Lake in Presque Isle, Michigan. I’ve got a picture but don’t know how to place it on this page

Anthony -- September 11th, 2009 at 10:42 pm

We’ve been seeing an eagle flying near Almelund, MN recently. We were also lucky enough to see the bald eagle sitting on the side of the road on a trip home from the grocery store this week. From far away we thought it was a wild turkey (due to the size) but soon realized it was our nearby eagle friend. Too bad I didn’t have my camera.

Carol Restauri -- September 21st, 2009 at 11:46 am

I spotted a bald eagle on Sat. 9/19/09 in the Park Hill area of Johnstown, Pa and it was later spotted near Vintondale, PA. It’s been many years since a bald eagle was spotted in our region. I hope they’re here to stay.

I seen the most beautiful Eagle I have ever seen and, it was so close to us. You could not get any closer in a zoo. I was so happy my children ages 12, and 9 were there for it. It was on I-275 South bound right before the Newport road exit in Monroe Michigan. I wish there was not so much traffic I would have stopped and taken pictures. He flew right in front of us and landed in a tree only about 6 foot off the ground if that. :) I am so happy :) we have driven past that spot a few times again looking for him with no luck.

chris7 -- September 29th, 2009 at 10:42 pm

I have thousands of shots of juvi’s and adults, I live in Erie, Pa on the lake and during the july and aug months we have 15 or 20 on the cliffs of Lake Erie! I recently shot one named Sargent with a band on him (b( released from Dollywood Tenn in early Aug and spent the last week in Aug on our shores. I have a web site http://flickr.com/photos/bountyhunter if any one is interested in looking at my work, Jimmy

I’ve gone nearly 49 years without seeing an American Bald Eagle. It was worth the wait. My husband and I were driving on Rt. 15 in PA between Gettysburg and York Springs, around 7:30 a.m., when the magnificent bird slowly soared and then landed on the edge of a field of goldenrods. After we passed the bird, my husband and I looked wide eyed at each other, before verbally confirming what we each had seen.

I saw a bald eagle this morning. I was driving through a cow pasture that i deer hunt in. I saw it sitting on the ground. It was dark with a white head so I thought it was a dog. Before i could get my phone to take a picture it flew up and i saw it had a white tail. It was the biggest bird ive ever seen around here. Of course nobody believes me, I wish i couldve gotten a picture. I live about 45 miles south of Montgomery, AL.

Peg Briggs -- October 25th, 2009 at 7:58 pm

We were riding our Harley this afternoon and saw a bald eagle flying towards us over a field. Have seen hundreds in Alaska and am aware of them closer to Lake Erie but this is the first one I have seen so close to my home.

Today is November 4, 2009. I walked out on my front porch in Myersville, Maryland (21773) today at 4:20pm and saw an adult bald eagle fying away from the house. It was the largest bird I have ever seen and had a white tail. I ran in and got the binoculars to verify its identity. Saw the beautiful white head and large yellow bill. Got a digital picture before it flew away. What a beautiful sight! I didn’t know bald eagles were this far east!

In september of this year (2009) i was driving from North Myrtle Beach, SC on hwy9 about 20min from cherry-grove and as soon as a passed the 3rd innersection from Longs SC a Bald Eagle flew right in frunt of my car. I slamed on brakes and pulled over to see it land in a pine tree just off of the hwy. i took a picture, but from the distance and lighting, its not worth posting. As i moved closer to get a better picture, it flew again cercleing around a field.. It was the most beautiful i have seen in the wild. and in SC!
