A lone black wolf named Casanova covets the daughter of the powerful patriarch of the Druid wolf pack.
i love wolves! they are family-orientated, lovable and intelligent
Wow, wolves are so much like humans, this is a great video!
Age old story… Daughter – “It’s him, it’s him, it’s him!!!” Parents – “It’s… him.”
I like seeing how Casanova and the pack act around each other. It’s very interesting how this enthusiasm from the daughter and the groan like temper from the parents are put together. Great video!
they are superr cool! I love the way they run.
Beautiful…………………..handsome casinonva, playful and full of life the two will be….Oh fun!
Awesome, i love wolves more than any one. I even had a dog who was part wolf, his mother was part husky and alaskan malamute and the dad was a wolf . I named him Wolf. he is soo cute! he howls at night but he howls more on a full moon night
I want to see more!
Wild wolves don’t wear collars.
There is no more spiritual and beautiful animal that the wolf! I can see traces in the dogs I have had and wonder at the pictures I see. How can anyone kill these creatures for the ‘hunt’? We can learn much from the way they care for their families and feel joy and the song of their howl!
Peter- the wolves were wearing collars for monitoring purposes (to help the park monitor movements to help keep track of the populations and migratory patterns). Great show, although the part where the male coyote was attacked was particularly hard to watch.
I really enjoyed this video. This is one of the many reasons why wolves are my favorites. They’re so like humans in all the good ways and not the bad. And @ Peter, these wolves are truly wild, but they are collared so that they may continue to be studied and so their well-being and movements may also be tracked by researchers and park managers. Usually one or both Alpha wolves are collared, as the pack moves where they move. Just FYI.
superb! One of Nature’s best. Just Wonderful.
Daughter wolf seems ready to climb out the window on a ladder and elope.
sarahand phyllis you are both right. those collars are called radial collars. they are used to track them and to tell all about them and there lives
I have watched this program 2 times on PBS, and then I bought it for my 16 year old grandson, who just loves everything about wolves. This was a wonderful program, and I hope to see more like this one. I give it a big 2 thumbs up!
My son’s favorite animal is the wolf, and he really enjoyed this program. Thank you PBS!

Oh what, casanova is dead? :( How did you guys find out?
wolves are historical, dating back to the Dire wolf and even further back. i love them
Can any one tell me how Casanova died, pls. I only heard it was recent October 8 2009 . I love these wolves, what happened to that druid member?
Thank you for any feedback.
I admire wolves so much, always have and always will. I think that’s why my favorite type of dog, although I like all dogs, is a German shepherd because it reminds me of the wolf.
Ummm i think that the video is interesting to watch.. becausee i lovee watching wolves.. they are awesomee
From Yellowstone Wolf Project update: an interview with leader Douglas Smith
You lost one of your most famous wolves this year—302.
The story of the year was probably 302, the most popular wolf in Yellowstone. The Quadrant pack probably killed him in a territory dispute. We know his story well since we’ve been following him for years. Most wolves live to about 4 ½ to 5 years on average—he was probably nine. We had nicknamed 302 “Mr. Casanova.” Most wolves assume a pretty monogamous breeding position in their pack structure and have no interest in philandering. But 302 had a wandering eye. He would leave his pack during breeding season to court females in other packs. It’s ironic that 302 had a huge following—people loved him—but he was probably the most unethical wolf we had because of his extensive “affairs.”
