  • Joseph Roccasalvo

A mesmerizing episode of NATURE made even more riveting by the superb narrative skills of Alan Coates. I would view Wild Balkans again for the impeccable match of photography to Coates’ speaking voice: clarity without fussiness and an uppercrust diction without any accompanying haughtiness; rich without being plummy. He is TO THE MANOR BORN. How can I hear him again?

I was stunned listening to the entrancing voice of Mr. Coates. At first, I thought I was hearing that much admired and beloved actor Ronald Coleman long since passed. Mr. Coates is either the reincarnation of Mr. Coleman or magically related to him in some fashion. To be compared to Mr. Coleman’s speaking voice is a distinct and genuine honor.

The entire program was visually sublime. As for those bloggers who visit every site on the web to cast negativity just for the sake of airing out there own blow holes, I hope you give their criticism the weight it deserves.

Was that Djivan Gasparyan in the score?

  • A Howe

No science adviser and it showed. Nature needs to do some homework. And local ethnic music would have made it more artistic. There is a big revival of the music underway in EU so leaving it out was surprising. Lots of errors in the spoken text.

  • Wendy

I really want to know the name of the flute player in the episode about vultures!
