Australia's Little Assassins
If you're vacationing along the Australian coast and come upon a pleasing little rock pool with an abundance of small wildlife, be careful where you put your hands. No bigger than a large coin, and often camouflaged against the rocks, the blue-ringed octopus is armed with venom that can kill a human in the space of a half-hour. It is just one of a vast array of small animals in the land down under that happen to have the most lethal venom on the planet.
