Richard Brookhiser on divisions within the Republican party

Partisan rancor between Democrats and Republicans has reached new levels as the budget talks have demonstrated in recent weeks. But there are also internal divisions within the Republican party, which currently holds the majority in the House.

Brookhiser is the author of several books on America’s founding fathers including his new one, out this fall, on President James Madison.  His memoir about his mentor William F. Buckley is titled “Right Time, Right Place: Coming of Age with William F. Buckley Jr. and the Conservative Movement.”
