Should immigrant entrepreneurs who create jobs be given special consideration to stay in the United States?

We don’t need those who don’t respect our laws.  Rewarding bad behavior is wrong therefore no speical consideration even for those who create jobs.  There are here becase its better then where they where, they should have come here legally and I would love to have them.

Man has created the continental devide because the inability to survive together united. As a reason of job growth in our nation to allow citizenship is a slap in the face to the homeland where the immigrant migrated from. So kindly ask that individual which mode of transport do they like back to their homeland.

The comments below are pure ignorance.  America was founded on immigrants.  The comments below are obviously from people who are ignorant and have failed to survive in an evolving world.  So all they do is whine and complain.  That’s like the dumb kid in class saying its unfair that the smart one gets all the praise and benefits.

This is exactly why we need smart foreigners to come in. We don’t need incapable, lazy, obese Americans.  And it’s clear that the people below don’t know how to spell nor use grammar.  I suggest you go back to your country from where your ancestors came from.  We don’t need you dragging our nation down.

All countries were founded on immigrants. We all came out of Africa. So, saying we (as if we were the only country built that way) were built on immigrants is not worth saying. We are the only one that is a microcosm of the planet. It is debatable as to the goodness or badness of it. Even if you think we were a nation of immigrants does not mean that it needs to continue. We are now the third largest country in the world, by population.

There are plenty of Americans out of work and you way more work visas. Train/educate and then hire Americans.

Do you realize that some want this immigration for low-wage labor? To take advantage of people.

Did you see most of those jobs in Atlanta. Very low paying and probably caters to other immigrants. Does little good to those that are here already.

Another reflection on our ineffective government, unaddressed illegal immigration.  It has always been about cheap labor and it always will be.  “Creating jobs” is quite effective if you pay illegal wages to your workers to kill off your competition.  The jobs aren’t “created”.

Need to Know’s presentation was transparently biased toward increasing
immigration.  The entire piece pushed the point of view of the closing
editorial.  The spokesmen for the anti-immigration point of view were
deliberately unattractive and their best arguments were not presented.
I am now retired, but I worked with many immigrants with H1B visas
at NASA contractors and other technical jobs.   First of all, the technical
and computer innovations has always come from America – the countries
supplying the tech immigrants have invented almost nothing.  A major
reason that young Americans are not going into technical fields is
because they see that their future job security, salary, and benefits are
being totally undermined by a flood of cheap labor from poor countries
like India.  Studies have shown that half of all H1B Visas go to Indian
companies that use the H1B labor to outsource American jobs to
India.  There are rules for the H1B programs that are supposed to
protect American workers, but these rules are never enforced.  Most
people working with an H1B Via do NOT have any special skills; there
are many Americans with such skills.  Employers like Bill Gates
like H1B workers because they pay them much less.  They can’t
complain and they put up with whatever the employer wants.  They
are indentured servants and have no rights – many big employers
prefer such a workforce, but that does not produce innovation.  It
is free Americans who have made all the technical breakthroughs
for decades.  There is no room here to present pages of examples
and detailed evidence.   Need to Know’s presentation did not even
touch on any of the evidence contrary to its obvious bias.

Ted is right. America was built on hard work and dedicated efforts. That is how George Washington won the American War of Indepence. Even though he was an Englishman he too had to fight the British to get Independence from them. America is full of hardworking immigrants.       We don’t need lazy, unwilling, and obese people clapping hands or watching baseball or basketball or tv shows. They only ruin everything in this country.

That is true; all countries were founded on immigrants but America makes it different from others. There are plenty of Americans out of work and you way more work visas Why? Americans do not want to do the jobs they were doing before. They don’t want to do any complicated or intellectually challenging jobs. They like to watch tv, play golf, spend time in race cars. They needed luxury and comforts. They take vacations, go to Disneyland, gamble in Las Vegas, eat in fancy and fastfood restaurants. They want bedcoffee even before getting out of bed.
    NO pains, no gains

No other country allows immigrants to stay in a country, with the hope that they may creat jobs. Look at all the start-up companies that fail. The immigrants that start companies that fail will stil want to stay here in this country, to try to start another  business. Give U.S. citizens the opportunity to advance. Thanks  …..

It all depends on whether they are here legally or not.  If they are here illegally, then they have no respect for our laws and therefore should be deported as anyone else. If they are here legally then the question isn’t relevant. I voted NO.

  • The real question

I would like to see a poll with the real question “Should there be a corporate entitlement that uses a corrupt visa program to ship jobs overseas and destroy US jobs?”

  • Smptemonkey

The yes voters should explain to American soldiers fighting for this country why they think Americans should lose jobs to immigrants.
