Anthony Shadid, who died Thursday in Syria, on the status of Christians in the Middle East

Anthony Shadid, a Pulitzer Prize-winning foreign correspondent for The New York Times, died Thursday of an apparent asthma attack while reporting on the uprising in Syria. Shadid’s dispatches from the region were indispensable for anyone following the tumult there. In December, Shadid spoke with Need to Know host Ray Suarez about religious tension in the region and, specifically, the status of Christians there.
