Here’s an idea. Ask the banks that have a stock of foreclosed houses to donate them for the use of homeless veterans. It has to be cheaper to have someone living in these homes then for them to sit empty and at risk for robberies etc. I’m sue the banks can find a way to make this a tax write off and
restore some faith that they are not completely evil.

I’m very sad and upset about our services men and women, that takes of our country ,that is very sad that we cant provided our services people Jobs after they come home from taking care of other country  its not fair they need jobs as well as other, they should be the first to get back on their feet they left their homes to go and defend another country or countries, so they should have some where to stay whenever they get back. staying with their family they need to have their own place.because they will have their own levels of problems . so please take care of our homeless Veterans they take care of us, and its not fair we cant take care of them And the President knows what he and the rest should do to make us happy about our fighting services men and women. Great program.  Veterans deserve and are entitled to this help.

I can understand a little of what these guys and gals are going through.  Two places to go for a job,
farmers need help this time of year and if your any good doors will open.  Large farms need people they can trust with very expensive tractors and everything else.  The same goes for truck driving whether it might be driving a ready-mix cement truck or other local trucking company.  I went out the door of my local grain elevator last fall as a driver was coming in, and for small talk I asked him how traffic was in Chicago as I knew that was where he came from.  I doubt if he could understand me and I didn’t have a clue what he said.  Just a few days before that I saw a story about how some trucking companies are having to resort to running ads in Russia and other European countries as they just can’t find drivers needed to move their truckloads around our country.  No CDL!  Not a big deal truck driving schools are all over the country.  Training, training people!!  Last I knew our govt. was still paying veterans to learn an occupation.
Medical knowledge,  if your not burned out ambulance outfits always need help.  Paramedics are hard to find.  Emergency rooms in hospitals always need help from what I hear.

Love your idea. How do we move it forward? My niece is in same situation as the gal in this episode; out of the navy after 3 yrs or so, had a young son, lost the son to the father, had cancer, fired because she was gone 7 months for cancer trt.

Breaks my heart; I help where I can. We need to let these soldiers know we are there for them. So not fair- flipping politicians need to get this figured out NOW.

The first person I would hire, would be a veteran. I say this because, they have sacrificed their lives, so that others in another country, can have a better life.
The veteran wants to make a difference!!!!

This is another reason why militarism is ruining America. We spend Billions and Trillions of Dollars destroying what other people built and spend nothing helping poor men and women who were tricked/lied into fighting our ill-conceived corporate wars. This is a national shame!

So much for all the flag-waving hypocrites who “support our troops”.
