Bestselling author Parag Khanna is hard to pin down. He’s raced 8,000 miles from London to Mongolia in the Mongolia Charity Rally, served in the foreign policy advisory group for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, and he’s been dubbed a global futurist and an adventurer-scholar.
His first book focused on superpowers, like the United States, competing for influence among rising powers like Brazil and Indonesia. His latest book is “How to Run the World: Charting a Course to the Next Renaissance.” Parag Khanna spoke to Need to Know host Jon Meacham to explain the central premise of his latest book, which is that we are living in a modern version of the Middle Ages.
We can only hope he knows how we can reach the enlightenment.
