As Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama continue competing for faith-based voters, this was a week of new religious controvery for Obama on several fronts. Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly managing editor Kim Lawton takes a closer look. [CORRECTION: The original story referred incorrectly to Louis Farrakhan as the founder of the Nation of Islam. It has been changed to identify him correctly as Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan.]

Error or misunderstanding in the report by Kim. She said, as 0:31 seconds, that Louis Farrakhan is "the founder" of the Nation of Islam. Minister Farrakhan is the current head of the revived Nation of Islam, not the founder of the NOI. Wallace Fard Muhammad was the founder of NOI. He was followed by Elijah Muhammad who was the second head. Farrakhan came into the organization as Louis X, after Malik El Shabazz (A.K.A. Malcolm X) had already been in the NOI.
When Elijah Muhammad died his son Wallace became the head of NOI but hten led the organization into other paths and changed the name.
So the problem is that the current NOI is a reconstituted NOI from NOI members led by Farrakhan who didn't want to follow Wallace. If Farrakhan is going to be called "the founder" it needs to be clarified that he is not the founder of the original NOI but is the founder of the "reformed" or "revived" NOI.
