Sorry I didn't watch the Video Blog - I still suffer from dial up, but I do have a comment.
I am 63 years old, I hate the term "liberal" I am a Socialist. I was a life long Democrat but had to walk away form the party after the Gore convention. As I watched that convention I realized it was nothing more than a three day pro-abortion rally. Not the Democratic Party I grew up with.
I don't know how we got to this, the Democratic party was always the party of Catholics and Jews - folks with a strong sense of moral justice. It was probably this sense of justice that let this group realize that this is not a perfect world and there is a need for legal, medically necessary abortions. Unfortunately the pro-choice people have turned this into what appears to be a abortion celebration.
Abortion is a fact of life, and within the "law-of-the-land." All political parties are going to have to live with this fact. My friends on the far right seem to think that no abortions have taken place under the Bush (1 & 2) administrations and that if the Democrats get in the White House, this country will suffer a resurgence of abortions.
I don't think the Democrats are willing to admit or allow "pro-life" Democrats to have a voice in the party. Until they do I certainly will not vote Republican but I will not support a Democrat. The Green party is looking better all the time.
