On the floor of the Republican National Convention, Nancy Pfotenhauer, senior policy advisor to the McCain campaign, talks to Religion and Ethics NewsWeekly managing editor Kim Lawton about the role people of faith will play in the campaign and how John McCain will appeal to them despite his discomfort in speaking publicly about issues of faith.

Nancy distorts Mccains records to fit her own agenda. Watching her on Hardball made finally realize that right wingers like her have no substance, and regardles if their candidate is wrong for this country they will support them anyway.
The religious right are vigoriously supporting McCain/Palin knowing that he promised to deliver the Supreme Court to them. And their Supreme Court will eventually eliminate the separation of church and state in the US. So, we who believe in the Constitution as written, are not only fighting Islamic extremists who terrorize in the name of their bible, their god, but also the religious fanatics here at home whose wish is to see the US government rule according to their bible, their god.
Beverly, you should look up our founding fathers... and yes I did say fathers. You might be surprise where their stands were with the bible and the constitution... President George Washington, September 17th, 1796 "It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible" I am sure you have accomplished as much as people like George Washington.. John Jay, 1777 the first Chief Justice of the United States "Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and the interest, of a Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers." To deny that America was based off Christian believes or the bible and values is to be blind to anything that we don’t want to hear because it might go against something we don’t like, but the facts are still here... there are countless quotes from our great founders that would only lead someone to know that they were Christians and believed America only could be great with God as head and the bible as our book of instruction. It’s time we get back to our old values... and change our nation back to the face of God... That is put on the shoulders of Christians to be real Christians and standup and get involved in our nation... Even if others like it or not... There is always going to be someone intolerant of us...
Nancy IS an amazing advocate for John McCain! Unfortunately as Beverly pointed out she/they will pander to any group they think will get them elected... honestly and reality has nothing to do with what they say or do!
Jamie, Yes many founding fathers were Christians. Many were also Masons (Many Christians think Masons are cultists). Many were also slave owners and NONE allowed women to vote, among other unsavory (by todays standards) behaviors. They were great in their time... let them RIP.
Are you suggesting that the USA should be run by and for only Christians? Which Christians? I hope you don't say modern evangelicals because sorry they were non-existent in the FF's times and they're churches are product of a bunch of people, called not of God but called by people, to rewrite the Bible to their own advantage so they can pretend to be righteous while they live like anything but! You wouldn't like the Christian religion of the FF's. They believed in Christlike "works".
I wish people like you wouldn't use the FF's to try to rationalize your own selfish desires!
