The National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) represents 60 Protestant denominations made up of 45 thousand churches with 30 million members. Early this month, the NAE's president, The Reverend Ted Haggard, had to step aside because of a sex and drug scandal.

Religion continues to be a key factor in American politics, especially during election season. Today, there is vigorous political organizing inside Latino churches. Many Hispanics favor more liberal immigration policies than most Republicans have supported. But as Kim Lawton reports, it's not yet clear how that will affect Hispanic voting.

One of the most influential evangelical leaders today is Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church, a megachurch in southern California. Warren is perhaps best known for his mega-selling book, THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE. Since its release in 2002, it has sold more than 25 million copies, making it one of the best-selling books in history. But what is less known is that Warren and his wife Kay have donated most of their earnings to help heal some of the world's worst ills.
