Hearing on Radicalization in the American Muslim Community

On March 10, the House Committee on Homeland Security held a hearing called “The Extent of Radicalization in the American Muslim Community and that Community’s Response.” After the hearing, a coalition of leaders from several faith traditions responded at a news conference. Watch excerpts from the statement of Rep. Peter King (R-NY), chair of the committee; the testimony of Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), the first Muslim elected to Congress, and Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, president and founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy; and a statement read by Rabbi Jack Moline, director of public policy at the Rabbinical Assembly, on behalf of the interfaith “Shoulder to Shoulder” coalition.
