Canonization of Popes Celebrated April 27

Canonization-HEAD-smThis is a big weekend at the Vatican as Pope Francis elevates two of his predecessors to sainthood: John XXIII and John Paul II. The two are widely loved by both Catholics and non-Catholics—John Paul for his charismatic personality and outreach, and John XXIII for opening the Church to the reforms of Vatican II. But there is also some controversy.
