Chicago Archdiocese Releases Clergy Sex Abuse Documents

The Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago made public this week thousands of documents detailing sex abuse by priests that took place in the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s. The papers also shed light on how church officials dealt with accused priests, many of whom were never prosecuted but instead moved from parish to parish. After the documents were released, the Archdiocese issued an apology, saying its leaders “made some decisions decades ago that are now difficult to justify.”
