The Claremont School of Theology, the Islamic Center of Southern California, and the Academy for Jewish Religion California are partners in a new effort to educate leaders for churches, synagogues, and mosques in shared classes.

A program of study, dialogue, and commemoration encourages Jewish and Christian high school students to understand each other's faith.

Imam Feisal Rauf of New York City was in Washington this week and spoke with us about religion's positive potential in a post-Mubarak Egypt.

"You have a whole new generation of Jews and Christians for whom all this either seems old-fashioned or unnecessary or the job has been done. Maybe they think we’ve succeeded, but we haven’t," says one interreligious affairs leader.

"Deep down there is only one faith that all human beings have, and that is deep trust in life."

"I see the future going in this direction, that more and more people will realize how important interreligious dialogue is."

It was a week of prayers and pleas for peace and gestures of reconciliation to all sides in the Holy Land.
