Composer and conducter Thomas Beveridge says his Yizkor Requiem is "a quest for spiritual roots" and a musical bridge between Christianity and Judaism.
Jewish memory is stored and transmitted in the paintings of Mayer Kirshenblatt, who with the help of his daughter Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett has preserved his own memories and the collective memories of a Polish Jewish community before World War II.
During the month-long Muslim holiday of Ramadan, these two teenage boys led prayers and recited the entire Qur'an from memory.
