I have been given a research report over the holocaust. Since it is such a broad topic with so much information all over the net, news, books, and everywhere else, one must be informed somewhere along the line anyway. It was horrific the things they did and that they got away with it so easily for so long and took so many lives for no real reason. I cannot understand why no one would believe Fred Wetzler and Rudolph Vrba in the first place; did they really think that they made up the horrible story or were they suppose to have proof what was exactly going on? Amazingly this is the first I have heard of Brba and Wetzler and their report. If only the U.S. and British governments had bombed the Auschwitz gas chambers and SS barracks and the railroad stations and the railroad tracks, instead of refusing to do so while bombing the nearby synthetic rubber factory at Auscwitz. Then, maybe many more Jews would have been saved. Every generation needs to know about the Holocaust, People also need to focus on the current threat of genocide against the Jews of Israel as the Iranian government and Palestinian Hamas government plus the Lebanese Hizbollah all call for Israel's destruction. Iran, with its nuclear program and potential for developing nuclear weapons, is the greatest threat to the Jewish people today. The question is: have Western democracies learned that 'Never Again' means exactly that? No Western government has moved to prevent the Iranian nuclear program from proceeding. The U.S. and others are working for UN sanctions but they are clearly ineffective as Russia and China protect Iran at the UN. Either Israel or the U.S. need to destroy the Iranian nuclear program and prevent another Holocaust from being perpetrated against the 5.5m Jews of Israel. Startlingly, the media are not focusing much on this genocidal threat. The media need to understand that they have a moral role to play in helping to prevent genocide by focusing public attention on this current threat to Israel.
