Richard A. Clarke: Death of bin Laden Doesn’t Make Us Safer

In the video below, counterterrorism expert and former White House advisor Richard A. Clarke explains what the death of Osama bin Laden really means for al-Qaeda.

“Bin Laden wasn’t running anything by the time we found him. He was pretty much just hung up there and getting reports and issuing strategic guidance, but he wasn’t running terrorist operations,” Clarke says. “Overall, the terrorist organizations that Bin Laden spawned in Somalia, in Yemen, elsewhere, they’re still there, and they reflect a problem in the Islamic world.”
