COVENANT WEEK: Rapper Talib Kweli feat. StringCandy

One of Hip-Hop’s most respected figures performs “The Chip,” from his album, Radio Silence.

Talib Kweli has a reputation as one of hip-hop's most poetic and socially conscious MCs. He established himself with the groups Black Star and Reflection Eternal before moving on to solo projects and has traveled around the globe as one of the genre's most in-demand performers. The Brooklyn native wrote poems and short stories in elementary school and, in high school, looked to hip-hop as a means of self-expression. The talented artist recently teamed up with record producer and rapper 9th wonder on the acclaimed album Indy 500.

StringCandy was founded by Juilliard graduate, Stephanie Matthews, assembling some of the most talented young musicians from across the United States and the United Kingdom for live performances and recordings.  Featuring musicians from some of the most reputable music schools and conservatories, StringCandy musicians have performed everywhere from the Grammys to the American Music Awards, and with everyone from Pharrell to Justin Timberlake to Alicia Keys.
