Dudamel’s Life and Career

It was clear as early as 5 years old that internationally acclaimed conductor Gustavo Dudamel was a musical prodigy. Whether he was playing the piano or the violin, conducting a youth orchestra or studying with some of the world’s most talented musicians, Dudamel’s musical career has always been filled with magnetism and magic.

Check out a timeline of Dudamel’s young life, from his roots in Venezuela to becoming one of the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s youngest conductors at age 28.

Tavis Smiley: The video renewed my excitement concerning Dudamel. In fact, we started a program for young children after school once a week. But, after two years and one of the 3 of us died, we stopped the program, even though she begged me to continue.
    Oh, how wonderful!
I am a member of Federated Women’s Club and did talk about this at the State Convention.
I will send this information and work on this as a state project.
A few years ago I saw the documentary on CNN and have searched for information about him.
Thank you for the program on PBS.
