While Amy Winehouse’s tragic death this weekend is hardly surprising — the 27-year-old singer’s troubles with drugs and alcohol were well-known — it marks the sudden end of an all-too-short life and career. The world has lost a truly beautiful voice in the saddest possible way.

Here’s Amy Winehouse singing a cover of Sam Cooke’s classic “Cupid”, one of my favorites of her repertoire, and a small taste of just how powerful her singing could be.

Super talented young lady. If drugs contribute to her death then I am not surprised just sadden. Unfortunatly what’s even sadder, there be others that will follow. That lesson is sometimes never learned. Bless her soul.
