Nirvana Gets the Reggae Treatment

August 17th, 2011, byJeremy Freed

While some fans of the era-defining ’90s grunge-rock outfit Nirvana may think the band’s music was perfect as it was, veteran reggae artist Little Roy is clearly not one of them. In the tradition of such albums as “Is It Rolling Bob?” (which reggae-fied Bob Dylan’s hits) and “Radiodread,” which gave the Jamaican treatment to Radiohead, comes “Battle for Seattle,” Little Roy’s tribute to Nirvana.

The album is out in early September, but there is a sneak preview now available. Ever wonder what a reggae version of “Sliver” would sound like? Now you know.
