Debate
Some people hate it, some people love it, some people fall in between. But no matter what your opinion of the UN, its role in preserving world peace has never been more critical. We asked two international affairs experts to debate the issues surrounding the world's sole international collective security organization.

Ian Johnstone, an associate professor of international law at Tufts University's Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, is a former aide to Secretary-General Kofi Annan and has worked in the UN's Department of Peacekeeping Operations and Office of Legal Affairs.
James S. Robbins is a professor of international relations at the National Defense University, an institution of higher learning for security strategy, and also works as a contributing editor for foreign affairs at the conservative weekly NATIONAL REVIEW.
