Clashes escalate in Thailand as government security forces battle protesters known as the Red Shirts — supporters of deposed former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra who are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.

India’s Tech Mahindra wins a bit to buy a controlling stake in the country’s fraud-ridden outsourcing giant, Satyam Computer Services.

Mortar shells are fired towards a plane carrying U.S. congressman Donald Payne as he takes of from the airport in the Somali capital of Mogadishu.
