  • WIDE ANGLE
Thirteen/WNET New York's weekly series of one-hour international documentaries, hosted by Mishal Husain, recognizes a new and urgent need to understand the political, economic, and social forces shaping the world today.

    • On July 1 the film "Inside the Mind of the Suicide Bomber" will be aired. Check for local schedules: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/wideangle/about/schedule.html
If time permits, you could show this film to your students following the introductory activity. Be sure to view it in advance and decide whether there are segments you want to highlight. There may also be segments you choose not to show due to their graphic nature.
  • FRONTLINE's "Battle for the Holy Land" goes behind the lines to examine this perilous conflict through the eyes of those fighting it on the ground.
    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/holy/
Through unique access to combatants on both sides, FRONTLINE's film teams take viewers inside the worlds of Palestinian militants and Israeli commando units, revealing the strategies, weaponry, and intelligence gathering tactics that have fueled the most recent cycle of violence. An excellent extension activity.
