I came from China experiencing the College entry exam as student an examinee and as teacher an examiner. As far as I knew the exam was level-plain for all high school graduates because the student's names on top of the exam paper were sealed. People who participated in grading the exam paper were not allowed to unseal the top part of the paper. Secondly, about five people in one group sitting around one table to grade paper like assembling line, each person was only responsible for checking one section, then passed on to next examiner for double check and then passed on to next examiner further verification. In this way, one section of the paper would be examined for grading accuracy about five times, then passed on to next groups for following sections. During the grading period, all examiners were isolated from outside. The grading mechanism was highly secured, it was absolutely confidential. But the possible loophole was in college administration enrolling procedure. In some cases which were very rare, but it happened, among students who achieved the same score, for the one whose family member was a high ranking leader might be accepted into an elite college, for others, they have to enter a regular college.

Here's what I find "funny". China is world renown for it's corruption on all levels. This includes business, finance, government agencies and the military.
The Communist Party runs everything with an iron fist and we're supposed to believe that these tests are on the level?
C'mon, this is the country were forgery is considered an art-form, as they flood countries around the world with their government backed "knock offs" and fakes.
If you believe the tests are so much "on the level", I have a tea house on the Great Wall you can lease or buy....
