Balochistan map Situated in southwest Pakistan, Balochistan is bounded by Afghanistan in the northwest, Iran in the west, and the Arabian Sea in the south. It is the largest, driest, and least populated province, much of it a high, barren plateau. Named for the nomadic tribal inhabitants of the area, Balochistan means "Land of the Baloch" in both Balochi and Persian.
