Sindh map Even though Sindh has a strong industrial base, the economic engine of the province is still agriculture. Rice, cotton, sugar cane, corn, wheat, barley, millet, and dates are principal crops. Its major industries are centered in Karachi, the provincial capital, and include cotton and woolen textile production, sugar processing, jute manufacturing, and iron and steel factories.
