We are living at the presence and Turkey is a democratic republic thanks to ATATURK, Like mentioned above there are many minorities still living in Turkey. In Istanbul you will find many churches, synagoges and mosques all in the same neighbourhood for decades. Ataturk seperated state and religion from politics. Anybody who says that Ataturk is total idiot is the idiot himself because he is an ignorant person who instead of trusting distrust something and actually therefore disrespects. I would suggest that you read the book Ataturk by Patrick Kinross an English author. Marcus, people like you do not have any respect for others. I love how this stupid prime minister praises a guy, which is an amazing guy Obama. Obama has said countless time the atrocities that the horrible turks committed during WWI not referring to them as mass killings but as GENOCIDE. Yes, Ataturk was a great leader but so was Hitler. Ataturk was just a big of a Jerk as Hitler was. I do come in peace though America will recognize the genocide whether the turks choose to deny them what needs to be worked on though is peace between Greece, Turkey, and Cyprus your troops need to leave cyprus you guys break every NATO law known to man until you guys start treating other cultures with respect you should not get any in return... He was escorted out of the room and returned a few minutes into Erdogan's speech, sans banner. Honest mistake if you are reporting based on your assumptions, but next time perhaps you should try interviewing someone who actually saw the banner. I just hope this was not an intentional way to bring Kurdistan into the discussion and thereby create some controversy (see comment by Rose Lan). Turkiye has many ethnic groups over 60. They all live togather in peace and harmony with total equal rights. There is no seperation of ethnic groups. PKK TERRORISTs kill their kurdish villagers including babies. Turkish army constantaly fighting with them . PKK killed over 30,000 people.Their leader was caught with the help of US who is in prison now. Ottoman Empire and Turks were over 3 continant.
