PBS Wonders of the African World on Enhanced TVWhen the PBS series "Wonders of the African World with Henry Louis Gates, Jr." premieres in late October, it will include several enhanced components designed to demonstrate PBS's new digital model and, ultimately, maximize the programming experience. Produced by PBS in association with Henry Louis Gates Jr., the interactive features will include:

  • PBS Online Web site
  • PBS Online Web site for broadband users (with optimized video and audio)
  • Web markers with embedded WebTV links during the broadcast of the program
  • Enhanced digital content package with exclusive video for digital television viewers

More programs with increasingly complex enhancements are planned for 2000.
