Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn have certainly established themselves as a force in country music. They've sold 25 million albums, scored 23 #1 hits, heard their names called Entertainer of the Year four times and set all kinds of other winning streaks. They've sponsored race cars, graced Corn Flakes' boxes and pioneered a torqued up brand of honky tonk music that's been called "the heart of Saturday night."

Billy Bob Thornton is probably best known as an Academy Award winning actor/ screenwriter/director (he wrote, directed and starred in Sling Blade, which won him an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and a nomination for Best Actor. He has also appeared in many movies, such as Armageddon and Monster's Ball, and directed Matt Damon and Penelope Cruz in the screen adaptation of All The Pretty Horses). In addition to his fame in the world of film, his reputation as a talented musician is spreading fast. Rolling Stone called his 2001 debut album Private Radio "a pleasing Southern Gothic exploration in mid-tempo twang, bad-boy rockabilly revelries and dark balladry."

Thornton's second album The Edge of the World was just released by The Sanctuary Records Group. Sanctuary CEO Merck Mercuriadis says, "Billy Bob Thornton is the real deal. He is a genuine artist who is as powerful behind the microphone as he is in front of the camera. As anyone who has seen one of his films knows, he is an emotionally compelling writer, and that carries over into his songs and vocal delivery."

Thornton's musical roots began as a drummer touring and opening for bands such as Humble Pie, Hank Williams, Jr., and Ted Nugent, among others. His latest album features a collection of original songs flavored by his personal life experiences. Many music critics have drawn comparisons to accomplished singer/songwriters such as Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson Tom Petty and Steve Earle (who have all played at Farm Aid shows). This year, Billy Bob Thornton joins the Farm Aid family of musicians who have shown their support for family farmers.
