Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts delivers powerful stories in song, rocking the concert stage with their trick bag from the best of 1980's hard rock. Led by Crowe's full, gravelly voice, the band's songs tackle issues of grief, addiction, love, war, and other hang-ups of the human condition.

Fronted by Academy Award winning actor, Russell Crowe, members of Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts have been playing together since their teenage years in New Zealand. Moving their band to Australia in 1987, Crowe and Billy-Dean Cochran expanded the group's lineup to include brothers Dave Kelly and Garth Adam. Taking on the name Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts with the addition of instrumentalists Don Brown and Mark Rosier, who would exit the band before the release of the band's debut album, the live Gaslight. Also in 1998, trumpeter Steve Kirwin and guitarist Dave Wilkins joined the Aussie band. The vexingly titled Bastard Life or Clarity was released in 2001, and Other Ways of Speaking followed in 2003.
