This dynamic community choir officially debuted in November 1994 and consists of some of the most outstanding vocalists in Washington Metropolitan Area, many of whom are ministers of music, choir directors, music educators, soloists, and ordained ministers of the gospel. The group has appeared throughout the United States and abroad. They have accompanied a virtual “Who’s Who” in gospel and secular music for a myriad of prestigious events at venues such as the White House, U.S. Senate, U.S. Supreme Court, Library of Congress, The Washington National Cathedral, The Kennedy Center, at President Barack Obama’s inaugural activities and for the dedication of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
PL&MOM have released nine (9) CDs. Their 6th project, “Determined,” features the legendary Lady Tramaine Hawkins as special guest.\u00a0 \u00a0A 7th CD of Anthems, Hymns and Spirituals titled “Majesty” was recorded on Saturday, March 29, 2014, at The Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA with special guests Evangelist Dorothy Norwood, LaShaun Pace and Naguanda Nobles and was released in September 2014.\u00a0 The Choir’s 8th CD, “By Faith” was recorded in November 2014, at Reid Temple AME on the occasion of the group’s 20th Anniversary Celebration with special guest Kathy Taylor. “By Faith” was released on July 23, 2017, during the\u00a0 50th\u00a0 Annual Convention of the\u00a0 Gospel\u00a0 Music Workshop of\u00a0 America\u00a0 held in\u00a0 Atlanta,\u00a0 Georgia.\u00a0 And, the Choir’s 9th CD, “Way-Maker,” was recorded at the Choir’s 25th Anniversary on November 9, 2019, featuring Evangelist Beverly Crawford and LeJuene Thompson, was officially released March 6, 2021. Two singles from the project, “Way-Maker” and “He’s Still The Light” have ranked in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Gospel Indicator Chart. During the week of September 19, 2022, “He’s Still the Light” ranked #1 for the second consecutive week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For the past several years, the Choir has had the privilege of participating in the Public Broadcasting System’s (PBS) Memorial Day and “A Capitol Fourth” Productions concerts from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, accompanying such renown artists as Yolanda Adams, Gloria Estefan, Meghan Linsey, Kenny Loggins, Barry Manilow, Cassadee Pope, Alisan Porter, Amber Riley, CeCe Winans, and others. On September 30, 2022, the Choir was privileged to participate in the historic “Celebration of Investiture” honoring Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown-Jackson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Choir consistently lends its support to charitable causes and has rendered concerts to benefit victims of hunger, disease, and domestic violence. And, on January 13, 2023, Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of Music were awarded President Joseph R. Biden’s Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of 4000+ hours of Volunteer Service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Founder-Director Patrick P. Lundy is a native of Thomasville, Georgia, a graduate of Howard University and was conferred an Honorary Doctor of Sacred Music by the Wayland Baptist Theological Seminary in October 2019. In August 2022, Dr. Lundy was appointed Chair, Vocal Music Department and Concert Choir Director at the world-renown Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. Dr. Lundy is a composer, arranger and workshop clinician who is highly sought-after throughout the country. He is also Founder-Director of Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of Music \u2013 Georgia Connection – which debuted in February 2014. For the past twenty-three years through July 2023, Patrick served in the Music Department of the Reid Temple A.M.E. Church, Glenn Dale, Maryland. In his last position at Reid, he was Director of Music and Worship Arts, under Senior Pastor, Rev.
