My American story started when I could not find a job after leaving college with a BS in sport fisheries management and joined the Peace Corps to gain experience in my field. Oh boy, what an experience! And, my "volunteerisms" have continued for the last 40 years, mostly on the back of my wife, Karen, who I originally met right out of high school. We have been married for 33 years, but have never been able to have children. They sent me to Ecuador, SA to design and supervise the construction of a governmental aquaculture facility, although I had no education nor experience in that aspect of fish science. Brought up in the Mormon Church here in Utah I was truly a "fish-out-of-water!" My story, like most combined stories, outlines my very different American lifestyle as I continue to purse fish in many different ways.
