Family looks like a dream of multicultural America. My Jewish ancestors escaped the Russian pogroms, immigrating to New York in the l890s. I met my husband, who is from India and was studying in America on a plane trip to India. Love at first sight: we are married 62 years. Our older son married a Brazilian girl working in New York, whose family emigrated from Italy and our younger son married a girl whose Irish Catholic ancestors fled the Irish famine. My sister's husband's ancestors were English Protestants who came to America in the l800s. Their daughter married a man whose father was American Protestant and whose mother was Jewish. Who knows who our five grandchildren will marry? A wonderful American family close and loving and the future of America.
