The tradition I carry on is…
The tradition I carry on is , in my son's words, "whole fish on the grill." Neither my husband nor I speak Tagalog, common with Filipino-Americans. Since we are a military family moves are often and our families are far away. Finding that sense of community and shared culture isn't easy. But one of the ways we keep our culture alive is through food. Our kids are adventurous eaters, luckily, and truly enjoy dishes like fried/grilled whole fish and pork blood stew (dinuguan). As much as we are American, we don't ever want our kids to lose touch with their Filipino culture.
