I never expected to be boarding a train in Thailand at 5 a.m. What I didn't think about was the fact that I don't speak Thai. So, a train shows up and I dilly dally...is it my train, etc. Then I move down to the train...but the train had started moving. I jumped onto a stair of a car and was knocking on the door. Finally, as we're leaving the station, an employee sees me riding on the car and pulls out his walkie-talkie. Soon enough, a brusque man opens the door of the sleeping compartment and gets me in the train. We walked the full length of the train to seat me in 3rd class (no windows, just a strong wind). I was so flipping happy to be on the train period, that the three hours were no issue at all.
