To me, work means Show Up: Every Day, On Time, Ready to Perform. Connect with my fellow humans. Persist - fail and try again. I learned these essential skills in one of my first jobs, as a teenager, selling shoes. The manager who hired me, hired us (he hired a lot of teens) taught us the art of working without beating us over the heads with it. Not until years later did I figure that out, that he had done so purposefully. Whenever I think about my successes in life, I'm thankful for those early lessons, and to the man who took the time and had the skills to teach me.
