To me, work means…
To me, work means I existed. Memories are so heavily referenced in my art practice. This obsession bleeds over into my drawing and painting work. I’ve come to the realization that, the reason I draw faces constantly is simply to document my progression in drawing. When I began taking art classes I began drawing without any reference so I couldn't draw it "wrong". Each time I would draw an “anonymous” face, I began to notice that my pieces look more an more like myself, yet each were so different. These drawings have improved my artistic abilities as a whole. I now use these drawings as markers of time and a way to facilitate conversations around the idea of self.
