My American dream - My American Dream was given to me. My mother was a 30 year old Irish immigrant with a 7th grade education who arrived in Manhattan in 1949.
She was sponso
red by her Aunt and Uncle. She worked at Schraffts as a waitress in NYC. She met my father there, he worked there as an entertainer.
They gave me up for adoption because as my mother wrote in a letter to me "I could not give you the things you would need."
In walks Walter and Alicia college educated and married. They tried for 8 years and were unable to have children. They adopted me and raised me as their own.
I have a masters, a beautiful home and two children. I am Thankful to Alicia and Walter who never let me quit!!
