At this point in my life…
At this point in my life, I'm entering my middle years just finding the confidence to use my voice. In my shy and asthmatic youth, I mostly lived inside my imagination. I'm grateful to have spent the last decade sharing others voices by photographing my hometown, focusing on the underrepresented. I carry these stories in my heart- such as the pregnant homeless teen, forced to sleep in frozen winter doorways and still with the generosity to offer me food gifts. I recently became a photo teacher and enjoy relating these experiences. It gives my students greater understanding of our community while strengthening the words of those I photographed. With this inspiration, I've learned the importance of sharing my knowledge- especially to help young women find their own unique voice and self-worth through artistic expression.
