My American dream - I love America. I mean it. I love America. As the daughter of immigrants from Hungary, I watched my father, so grateful that his children were Americans. As the first in my family to go to an American school, and then to graduate school, I lived the American dream.
I have tried to instill in my children and grandchildren how special our country is. The awe and wonder of my America is not the same for them. What for them is a time to read about in the history books is My Life - a life well-lived in this land of freedom.
So, thank you America. May we recapture our belief in our country's promise and ability to work together to continue the America that welcomed my family here and offered opportunities to be whoever we might become.
