I was raised to believe that I am a citizen of the world and need to value every person in every nation and each person deserves my respect. I had a British Father, an American (USA) Mother, and a Burmese (Karen tribe) Nanny who was my "other" Mother. I was raised in Burma, (Myanmar), Pakistan, India, and England. I first came to the USA to attend Universities for undergraduate and graduate degrees and eventually settled in Alaska. I was a psychotherapist for decades where my in work with couples, families and individuals, it was important to value and respect every person. When I witness prejudice and discrimination, I think of my Burmese Mother and all those friends in all those countries where I lived, and I feel sad for them, and wish others personally knew and valued all people as I have tried to do.
