My life right now When I was 8 my dad (a Marine medivac pilot) was killed in Vietnam trying to rescue 11 Marines pinned down by enemy fire. Dad (Donald J Reilly) was awarded a silver star and Navy Cross for his service. Though he left my little sister and me with a severely ill mother, we got through. I've always been immensely proud of him. Perhaps to honor his memory, I married a Vietnam vet 37 years ago. He is 100% disabled due to Agent Orange. He cannot walk, he cannot breathe properly. He is slowly dying. Now he is sympathizing with the "patriots" who stormed Washington. Vietnam, though trivial to some, has taken a large chunk of mine and my children's lives. Many people think it was over 50 years ago so why ruminate over it. Its still important.
