My life right now is as a caregiver for my mother who has Alzheimer’s. I entertain mom with music and as a catalyst to change her focus from confusion to involvement. Mom sang in the Baltimore Symphony chorus for 25 years, so music was a easy connection for her. Last Easter, I got bunny ears for mom to wear at a local park for hikers passing by. Everyone so enjoyed this little cute woman with bunny ears doing her little bench dancing movements. She became a hit in the park and online where I posted videos of her on a Facebook site called Molly’s Movement which is a Alzheimer/Dementia caregiver support site which has 140k members around the world. People loved her instantly wanting to send mom more headpieces to wear. Since May, people from as far away as the UK & Australia have sent 75+ headpieces to date.
