What gets me out of bed in the morning is awakening to what the new day will bring. As a married, semi-retired, 60-something, you might think that my days would be routine and somewhat rote. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have been working with my hands since I was a child. I built models when I was young. I drew, painted and worked with wood as a teenager. I was a potter, serigrapher, sculptor and teacher as a twenty-something. From all of these activities I have been able to forge a life that has been creative, varied and extremely rewarding. Today, I continue to work with my hands by building custom cabinets and furniture for folks that helps supplement my retirement income. So, I look forward to each and every day and what new path I will get to explore.
